This was in Camp Lejeune (Marine Corps Base) I took it last year when my fiancé and I were on our way to the beach...and I was lucky to capture this field, and the field exercise happening while we were driving past!

This is my parents back-back yard (in Oneonta on Chestnut Street). The road behind this is the Roundhouse Road (near the train tracks).

One of my favorite LOCAL photographers!

Riikka Olson is a local photographer from Delhi NY.
But is a Finnish immigrant. Riikka is one of my absolute favorite local photographers! She has such a unique and beautiful way of photographing people and especially children. Her photographs are extremely vibrant and hardly ever photographs black and white almost always her photographs are in color. I absolutely love her work!

Raising the Flag, 1945 - The Marines

This famous picture was taken on February 23, 1945, by Joe Rosenthal. I love this picture and how Joe Rosenthal photographed the reality of World War II. It hits close to home for me given the fact that my fiancé is a United States Marine and has fought in the Afghanistan War. The pride in america is seeping out of this photograph. This picture shows United States Marines and a U.S. Navy Corpsman raising the flag of the Untied States atop Mount Suribachi. This is today one of the best known War images ever made!
